The problem is I left the game alone for several months and have had to try and backtrack as to where I was and what I was doing. I have done everything
1. did the fake mandrake root quest 2. made the wyvern potion 3. dumped it in 3 out of the 4 pools Problem is I can't find the 4th pool, in previous posts it says that I have to kill the main boss to have it open, I have killed practically everything on this level, where is the main boss and how do I get the treasure door open, please help. Thanks. |

Main bad guy is across the bridge. You have to get someone disguised as a Histachii past the Eye of Set to pull the lever that lowers the bridge. After you give Nheero his potion, find him again on level 2. Rest until he returns to human form, and ask for the potion. He'll give you some.

Like Nightowl said, you have to use the fake histachii potion to convert one of your characters (do it to the weakest combatant in your party) into a Histachii for a short time to flip a switch to lower the little drawbridge that will lead you to a room in the lower center of the map, to the south of the central snake room.

Nightowl,
Thanks for the reply and I have already done that and killed the .......Efreeti if I remember correctly, it is in the room with all the dead people and the table at the far end and the bag of skulls. I have gone through there with a fine toothed comb and can find no switches or whatever, how do I get to the last pool? Thanks again. |

Okay, after you kill the Efreeti, you take on Thorasskus, who is disguised as the small boy. You have to get him to change to his true form before fighting him. Sometimes you're lucky and you can kill him right away. Other times, he escapes down a hole to the treasure room, and you have to kill him there.
In either case, the hole is at the far right side, south. Down there is the last fountain. |

*hijacks the thread for her own purposes*
If you pick up all the wood weapons in the room before turning Thorasskus, will he still shoot off his "sticks to snakes" spell?

Good question. I never thought to do that myself. Why not save the game and give it a try? My own guess is that the slinkies will show up anyway, but ya never know for sure until you try

I just got through with the whole thing, and I used two people to talk to Thorasskus: my high-Diplomacy paladin and the character under the influence of the Histachii brew. You can also talk to him in his little boy form and learn a few more facts, and if a character with high INT (I think it's INT) can prove him wrong, he'll transform.
And if he's not in the treasure room, he's in the room to the north, the one with the snake statue and the six doors that seem to lead nowhere. But get to him quick--he likes to summon stuff and will keep right on summoning stuff until he's dead.

It's easiest to do if you have a Paladin in the group; the paladin will detect his evil when you talk to him (paladin must be the person to convers with T.)
There's also a conversation thread that appears if you read the sign at the entrance to the cave (just before you go up the ramp that's trapped), and that will get him to polymorph. Otherwise, I think if you just keep after him, eventually he changes form. |
