I just finished killing Bodhi in chapter 6, and was wondering if I can get rid of my extra stakes and holy water. Also, I finally destroyed the dragon in the Temple Ruins (after I tried 2 dozen times earlier in the game and gave up!), so can I get rid of the wardstone now? I'm assuming it has no use now that the dragon's dead. I have to say, it was pathetically easy because I used the Finger of Death on it. I wasn't powerful enough to do it in the earlier chapters, but really want that weapon!

yes, you can get rid of those stakes and wardstone.

about the shadow dragon...well, after you come back from the underdark, it really isn't any fun taking on her. Next time, maybe try to do it when your mage cannot even cast 6 level spells yet...that'll be a fun battle (and then proceed to the bad red dragon^_*).

I did try to kill the shadow dragon earlier, but had a ton of trouble. I didn't realize that the finger of death would do anything to it and was well into the fight before I actually cast it. I cast several lower magic resistance and feebleminded spells on it, and had Mazzy and Jan nail her with some arrows/bolts. I was about to send in Minsc and some other summonded monsters, but cast FoD right at that point, not knowing if it would work. Also, I managed to kill the red dragon earlier when it first appeared in chapter 5(?) after some time, but must have just nailed it with the right spells. I had lots of creatures and my fighters hitting it for about 5 minutes before it actually died.

well, what I wanted to say is that taking on the shadow and red dragons before you head to the spellhold will be fun battles...with a lower level party, you're going to have tons of trouble beating them, but it's doable and fun, for me, much more fun than coming back from the underdark...which most of the time for me, they don't post any threat and I have no such feeling that I'm slaying some powerful and fearsome creatures~~

btw...you killed a "red" dragon in chapter 5 (= in the underdark)??? I thought there's only a silver dragon in the underdark?

I totally agree with you. I just didn't realize at the time how easy it would be to kill the dragon after I'd done chapter 6. I don't remember which chapter the red dragon was in, that's why I have the question mark after chapter 5. All I know is I killed the red dragon in the Umar Hills quest or Windspear Hills, I think. This is my first time playing, so I have trouble remembering all of the names of the levels.

the Windspear Hills quest. He's tougher than the shadow dragon. Did you do the Windspear hills quest after you came back from the underdark as well?

No, I did the Windspear quest before starting Chapter 4. So, he was really tough for me to kill. I didn't think to go back to deal with the shadow dragon until after chapter 6 because 1) I passed him when I took Anomen's body to the temple to be restored, 2) I forgot that the dragon had the scroll on him for that new weapon. So, when I saw him again, I decided I might as well give it a shot. The red dragon was definitely a lot tougher, although when I first tried to kill the shadow dragon (long before finishing chapter 6), he'd kicked my butt.

you can save the holy water for any other undead encounter you should have
Wardstones are generally best left after defeating the regarding enemy and stakes will mostly be supplied by the game where needed.

That's good to know. I put all of the stuff in a chest at Jan's house so if I need it, I can go back. I haven't started chapter 7 yet (finishing some other quests first), so I'll go back and get the holy water before doing that, then. Thanks!
