I've heard some discussion on certain axes, and I'm a bit confused. I believe they were talking about an axe named "Azure Edge," which can both be thrown and used as a melee weapon. They said that this axe was the best thing to use, even if a person had no proficiencies in it. Is this true? I have a similar axe called "Hangaurds axe" or something like that. Anyways, should I use this, or sell it? I have no axe-wielding people in my group.

Side note: Is it just me, or does Bioware like axes that act as boomerangs? We saw an axe with the same properties in BG1, and now I am lead to believe that there are two of these kind of weapons in Bg2. Any thoughts?

well, the reason why people uses this axe is to beat the undead.but it is to mild for the damage to use against overall enemies.there r many good axes :'axe of the unyielding'.u can sell it, depends on you. you can get better undead weapons instead, MoD+2, for example.

Yes, Bioware likes the "infinite ammo" weapons. I know of two short bows, a sling, two axes, and a dagger just off the top of my head in SoA that have unlimited ammo/boomerang effect.

Hangard's Axe is good if you have a person in the group with axe proficiency, otherwise just sell it (as you probably have other missile weapons that you are using instead, such as bows, crossbows, and slings). Not to spoil anything, but Azuredge has special abilities that make undead easy. That's why everyone likes the axe, even without proficiency.

off the top of my head, there are 3 returning axes, 2 returning daggers, 2 unlimited ammo shortbows, 1 unlimited ammo sling and 1 returning war hammer. with tob, there will be 1 more returning axe and one returning dart to go with the SoA weapons. there might be more, but i dont remember anymore(infact, im about 99% sure there arent, but incase i missed one, this may save my skin )

I can think of at least one ToB item (crossbow) you forgot
However what's the second unlimited ammo bow???
Apart from that ToB also provides with quivers and bags of unlimited ammo that go with any launcher.

I'm quite sure you havn't missed anything. Pedantic will say that there's actually more than one copy of one of the unlimited ammo Shortbows... but they're just pedantic.

damn! that was the first item that came to mind when starting the tob items, but since i started with axes, i forgot to mention. thanks for correcting me, anyway. i also didnt feel the need to mention the quivers, since there not weapons.

yes, well they are one and the same bow, though for some reason there are two copies of it. i suppose i should have mentioned it, since it is another bow with unlimited ammo, be there 2 copies or no.
the trademeet bow is also the bow of a rather famous female archer who hails from the ten towns(which is also the bow to which Alson was referring to)
