Hey everybody, I've got two questions regarding my current game. I'm playing a chaotic evil swashbuckler with Viconia and Edwin (because I want a romance and need the mage support to win battles) and I'm currently doing the valygar quest with him in my party. First question: Is there any way to make valygar a fallen ranger, or otherwise corrupt him just a little bit? Roleplaying-wise I can't keep him in my party after I finish his quest but I've found him to be a great addition. I know korgan is evil but I just can't stand him.
Second question: Are there any merchants that don't charge super high prices when your reputation is low? Such as the illicit merchants in the shadow thieves hall or any of the smugglers? It seems to me that they wouldn't mind dealing with someone who has a nefarious reputation. As a side note I'm finding that playing evil is much more satisfying than playing a good character - does this say something bad about me? [ 10-05-2005, 12:49 AM: Message edited by: Kazilan ]

lol! You didn't let that ogre try and fool you into believing that it was a wingless elf did you? It surely deserved death for trying to pull such an obvious trick.
My understanding regarding fallen Paladins and Rangers is that it affects the PC, not your NPC party members (happy to be corrected, but I'm fairly confident that's the case). The Ease of Use mod includes a component; "NPCs Won't Fight Each Other, Leave" which will keep Valygar in an evil-oriented group with a low reputation. It's not particularly good role-play, but it's your game, so do as you please. On low reputation prices, the Ease of Use mod now has the "Low Reputation Store Discount" component that will give you an 'intimidation factor' in addition to a 'popularity factor' - so the further away from 'average' your reputation gets, the lower the prices. Please note that while I've highlighted two components of Ease of Use, I'm not advocating installing all of its components, as some i.m.h.o. are game unbalancing (while others I find quite handy). |

A Ranger or Paladin in your party can become fallen, it's just the same as your PC becoming a fallen Paladin/Ranger. Just lower your rep. I can't remember off hand what rep makes you fallen for a Ranger, but it's lower than the rep which makes a Paladin fall anyway.

It might be a game version or mod thing, but I've been unable to make a NPC party member 'fallen' due to a low reputation - they sure will complain though.

No matter what version you're running or mods you have installed, only the PC can Fall. Other Paladins and Rangers you recruit into the party will complain, leave the party, and/or outright attack you if your Reputation (or Virtue) falls too low, but they will never Fall. Neither will Ranger/Clerics, I might add.

98% sure. I suppose it's possible that BioWare put in some flag to make Keldorn Fall at a certain event, but given that I once made him kill his own family AND most of the Radiant Heart, after which he still had not Fallen, I strongly doubt it.

Six is correct that only the PC will Fall as a result of reputation.
