Ok this isnt the most serious of posts but these silly questions are annoying the sh*t outta me.
First up i hope anybody who's readin this knows Gorprel Hind and his Merry Fools from the favourite fight of many the Bar Room Brawl, now sum of u might not know this but they actually caught the GREATER Ballisk tht escaped at the docks now what gets me is how do those low level dopes capture a later ballisk they would be all at levels 2 or 3, 4 at the most, Ive seen parties at levels higher thn tht get slaughtered by a ballisk and yet those dopes caught one how? its beyond me. Next why didnt anybody ressurect Gorion granted it wouldve screwed up the game a bit, but when u search his body its all in one piece, he wouldve had the money in his room somewhere they couldve even built it into the plot he comes back in chapter 6 and u have the chance of letting him into ur party or sumthing similar? Now i know tht they are proberly silly questions but they were bugging me and i had to get them off of my chest and if anybody actually has decent answers (or even non-decent answers seeing as this is a bit of a wierd post) id be glad to hear them |

1) Gorpel Hind's Merry Fools must have included a high-level Mage, who was able to cast Hold Monster, but got killed on the way back from the fight. This gone-but-not-forgotten Mage probably had a Charisma of 3, 'cause why else would the band be named after Gorpel?
2) Resurrecting Gorion is a kick-ass idea. After all, you can res your guys, the bad guys do it at least once too, so why not Gorion? After all, either Fuller or Hull did say he went out and collected the body.....My guess is, there are wolves and gibberlings in the area, and they eat meat. Oh well.

Six is right, resurectting Gorion screws the game up. It'd be no fun to make a game where gorion dies, you resurect him, the end. Though it would make a good twist if you raise him, and then he joins you so you have to stop Sarevok. In any case, they make him cast spells really fast so the game doesn't take 10 hours for a frikin fight, and he has a timed death(i owe that gorion stuff to my bro). Gorpel hind as his "merry fools" suck, but i never knew they captured a basilisk.

The Merry fools question - well theres many way to capture a basilisk. being give a quest to do it would mean they would be give the neccessary equipment, and the low level could be explained by the fact that all the good adventuring parties are off bandit hunting.
Resurrecting gorion- the guys fifteenth level(i think). if you got him, you woudnt be able to lose. thats high enough for level 7 spells, and they can be really powerful. maybe sarevok has some weird weapon which destroys the soul or something. anyway, he does have a sword you get in BG2, but most of its powers were lost when he died, so it could be that. and of course there always the fact he only has about 20gp in his room.

In regaurd to the president thing he's urs not mine i aint from the U.S. im from little old New Zealand, and if i still reckon havin the chance of Gorion Joining you would be great, and it wouldnt screw up the plot tht much if it happened in chapter 6, the mage thing wif Gropel and his fools it sound like it couldve happened who knows? and Secret Master they caught the ballisk to sell or give to sum noble in Waterdeep and were jst stoppin off at BG for a bit

Well dex_man our PM is as bad as their preident.
IMO, it is good you cant get Gorion, because he is too strong and too good to make it fair. Afterall, how often are all your characters level 15 when you get to Sarevok?

Actually, if you really wanted, you could use the following script that keeps Gorion alive ("Gorion Wins"):
http://www.execulink.com/~cmohan/aru...g_scripts.html And then import Gorion to play with your party ("Character Collection"): http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG/index_editors.htm I've never done this, and can see no reason to do it. But there it is if someone wants to try it.
