Party VS solo

I dont know f this has been done before,if it has im sorry and ill delete it.

I used to like partys more and thaught 'how can people solo?Wouldnt you just get mashed right away?'But then i tried soloing for the frst time with a blade and loved it.Since then iv solod a Half-orc fighter cleric,a half elf fighter theif and a sorcerer.With a party i just get bored of the slow leveling speed and get annoyed when evryones dead before iv finshed casting or whatever.I find it easyer to be able to concentrate on 1 person 100%.When i use the scripts i get bored of just sitting there during fights.Sure partys have their good points like the dialog and romances,but i just find soloing much more entertaining.What do you think?

I've run 4 solos (Sorcerer, Wizard Slayer, Fighter/Mage, Fighter/Thief) and 6 parties. I tend to flip between two savegames (right now, between a Totemic Druid and a game with a Cleric/Ranger as my main character.) I find there more than enough variation. If you're still having problems with fun for party games, have you ever tried it on Insane difficulty, with various mods (Tactics, Improved Battles, yada yada yada)? Adds a whole new dimension. Eventually you'll be able to solo through them, but they're lots of fun with parties. Also, try mods like Kelsey, Chloe and Solaufein, or even GBlucher's alternate NPCs, to try out different classes. A good site to check out for some fun party ideas is All Classes at PlanetBaldursGate. They have an example of a fun, themed party for each character class. Check it out.

I solo almost every single game. The only times I ever have a party is when I have a theme for them, like "All-Warrior Evil People" or something along those lines. I find soloing much more satisfying and exciting.

I used to play with party, but then I soloed almost all my games. Now I made a powergaming party again. I prefer soloing over partying becuase it offers better challenge.

I haven't soloed yet, but I doubt I would abandon the party atmosphere as I love hearing and reading the banters, as well as completing NPC-Related quests.

Also, I never set scripts for my party members, so battles are never boring. I love improvising in battles, especially with so many to control.

I could care less about the slow leveling (It doesn't seem so slow to me anyway), or if soloing is a better challenge. To me, it's very challenging just trying to keep the party members alive, and to fight orcs and still get injured enough to have to use healing spells instead of going through my enemies like a scythe going through wheat

never care for Soloing. Love the slowly leveling up party game, micro-managing everything, from customizing each party member to figuring out mosnter-fighting strategy (with a balanced party and everyone contributes). Love the feeling of surviving the whole SoA/ToB and going into the final ToB battle with Aerie not able to get her mage side of HLAs yet (of course not high level enough to get the holy symbol either).

yay,more chronicals by the way,i tried soloing an avanger but then i saw sleepy hollow,and am now working on a fighter/theif solo as the hessian horseman(not headless) i even got a portrait of him off google,but im wishing i had duel-classed assasin to fighter so he is human not half elf,and i backstab alot so it would be better to have duel classed assasin and fighter.

Teardropmina, yes that's definitely the fun in parties. My main reason, after much thought, is that I couldn't go through the game without Minsc, Jaheira, and Imoen at my side when I fight Irenicus. It just seems wrong not to have them there.

Personally I think solos are for the boring and the powergamer. I get bored really fast, tactically this game will never really be any challenge. NOT even with tactics, that mod just adds über gore to make you drink healing potions faster.
