Another Kangaxx post - sorry.

I tried not to make this about Kangaxx, but the more I wrote, the more I realized it is.

A brief history- I stumbled onto this quest in chapter 2 (got the parts) and didn't know what to do with them until the beginning of Chapter 3. After attempting to kill him honestly (again and again and again) I read the posts on him and realized I may be hitting him a little early. Even so, it seemed possible if I

purchased the PfM scroll and the Staff of Rhynn, and got the ring of the Ram. BTW- thanks Dundee Slayterm for the great Kangaxx tutorial.

Last night I was sooooooooo close to killing him, or so I thought. Jaheira was hastily beating him with the staff after Korgan had nailed him with the ring of the Ram. He was injured, but then steadily got better while being attacked! I concluded that he was regenerating faster than Jaheira could do damage.

Seeing that I've eaten enough cheese to get this far, I don't want to buy anything else. So, how can I increase the amount of damage she does? Will taking a strength potion help? How about wearing the gauntlets of weapon skill that are currently on someone else? Anything else I can do?

I assumed you're playing the standard Kangaxx right? a mage (or the more the better) with SI on, firing MMM on him while Jaheira attacking may help.

Increase J's # of attacks per round. Potions of haste, haste spell, Improved haste will all do wonders. Improving here strength will also help,(use potion of X giant strength) There are other weaponds that can hit him available in Chap 2 and 3. Try to help Jaheira out with some ranged attacks, you can find ranged weaponds that will hurt Kangaxx but they will cost you a pretty penny.

Thats the best way to increase damage against Kangaxx, since he has a buttload of damageresistance. Even with a strenght of 25, you would probably only gain 1 or 2 extra damage points, at most. With more APR you would get about 3-4 extra damage points.

Prior to taking the potion, J was doing 1hp of damage and Kangaxx was healing faster than that. Taking the potion of strength only increased the damage to 2hp, but that was a big difference. I also figured out how to use Melf's meteors for some additional damage. I thought the spell wasn't working before- I didn't realize it created something you had to throw.

The fight was well worth it, though! That's a nice prize!
