I was having some bad problems with my dialogue.tlk file, so I uninstalled SoA+ToB. Just as the uninstallation was finishing, I took out the CD to early (I'm a dumbass, I know), and now, nothing will work. I can't install ToB, I can't uninstall SoA cuz it can't find my registry file, and each time I try to launch SoA, it first tells me that it's my first time playing the game, then I get an error about the BIF files, so I can't even open up SoA. What do I do? I ticked off as hell because this all started with the goddamn #$#%#% Rogue Rebalancing mod a couple weeks ago.

edit: Should have mentioned, how do I fix it??!!

double edit: Deleted the whole BG2 directory and I can only load it now if I use my old BGMain file to open the game. I've still got my override, baldur.ini, characters, data, autorun.ini, chitin, saved games, dialogue.tlk, and BGMain backed up.

Frag the SoA diretory (backup your saves). Run the setup program directly from the CD.

You might want to go on a slash and burn through the registry as well, but be *careful* about that. Probably not neccesary.

simple way: Delete everything from the BG 2 directory. Uninstall if necessary from Add/Remove Programs.

Already did that. I can't find it under Add/Remove Programs. I only can find Baldur's Gate there, which I assume is BG1. I can't uninstall BG2 b/c it can't find my setup.exe. What do I do?

After backing up your saves, run the setup.exe (not autorun.exe) from the CD and install to same folder as before. (BACK-UP SAVES FIRST)

Managed to install the game (actually, installed it 3 more times till it finally worked), and I've got no patches or mods installed atm. However, I've copied over my old saved games and characters and everything is back. Is it safe to copy over my old baldur.ini file too?

Only problem is that last time, I had a recommended install. This time, I've done a full install, and so I want to make sure if copying over my baldur.ini will set it back to a recommended install (I'm tired of switching CDs over and over)

Just figured that out. I saw near the top of the file 'installation type=2' on the old baldur.ini and type=3 on the new one. Plus some other things were different, so all I did was copy over the movies from the old to the new, not like that's a problem.

edit: I'm installing my mods back now, and under Ease of Use, I can't install the bonus merchants. It keeps giving me an error, so I just decided to skip it. I had it installed before, so what's the problem?
