Getting to the Asylum?

I can't find the boat that is supposed to get me on
my way to the asylum?

I checked all the docks but nothing.

If you talk to the person who told you that there was a boat, and told them that you were ready to go, it transports you to the boat. So, go back to that person who asks you if you are ready to go, and tell them you are. This should transport you there.

I have gone back to the shadow guild twice and I think it
is arian. He tells me I need to hurry to the boat but there
is none.

But now that I think about it he asks if I need to get supplies or if
I am ready to go. I think I always say get supplies and then I
go look for the boat.

I will try and tell him I'm ready to go and see what happens.

whenever in BG2 you are to leave on a journey you get the option: "Let me get some supplies" which only means: "Wait here, I come back when I've finished my business. Then we can set sail"
So just return to Aran and tell him you're ready.

Faceman is correct. Go back to Aran and talk to him. He'll ask if you are ready to go. Say yes and off you will go.
