kangaxx bug

i went colecting kangaxxs golden torso and the hand-leg part, with out triggering the quest first. then when i went to his coffin and speak to him, he took all his body parts but never showed up!then i reloaded the game and drop those parts before talking to kangaxx.and then it triggers the quest.after that, i took the parts again and talk to kangaxx again, then he showed up.is this a bug?has someone experienced this before?

I also collected the parts first when I did the quest the first time
I talked to Kangaxx: "Find my bones" - "I already got them"
Kangaxx appeared - rest like normal

My very first character in BG2 did the same thing. I found the shade lich first (i think it's the shade; the one in the bridge district anyway) and realised that something was up when he mentioned kangaxx and i didn't know who he was talking about. Later, i gave kangaxx his limbs and torso and was surprised that i didn't receive any xp or anything. (Though not as surprised as i was in my second game when his dialogue was triggered!)

It's definately a bug. When it happened to me, it was with stock standard SoA. No patches or mods, official or otherwise. I've never tried to do this quest A about F since so i can't say whether or not this is fixed by any of the patches.

Kangaxx can get buggy, yes. Most "immortal" enemies can. BioWare laziness, I reckon. *sigh*
