Eck, I'm never going to get through this. I installed the Imoen Romance mod, but here's the thing. Everytime the game stops, and loads (like with Irenicus' dreams) it just freezes up and crashes. Is there a mod I might have that may not be compatible with this?

Ohh boy, let's see, I have the following mods installed...

Ascension
Ease-of-Use
Dungeon-Be-Gone
Items Upgrade
NPC Flirt Packet
Solaufein Mod
Valen Mod
Spells to 50th Level
Redemption
Imoen Romance
Tactics Mod

And that's it.

To answer your question jamalez, yes, Mods are programs to make and improve the game.

It ain't compatible with TDD, IIRC. But it isn't a compatibility problem - have you downloaded tisless version of Imoen romance? If you have, you should convert .tis from BG1. If you don't have BG1, you should have downloaded version with .tis.

Mod. stands for Modification, these are programs that alter surtain things... like in BG II you have enormous counts of mods that you can download/install. All of them add/delete something from the BG II, I'll recommend you to read Dundee's sticky thread.. in that thread there is a explanation about mods.

The readme. said that it was compatible with TDD though.

Note: Capitalization is important.

MOD = modification, a change to the game.
MoD = Mace of Disruption.

Of course, you can pretty much tell what someone is talking about just from context, but still, clarification is helpful here.

Dunno. How are you trying to install it? And what error are you getting?

Some general points.

DbG is a weiDu mod. So you extract it directly to your BG2 folder, using a fairly modern unzip program like winzip. Now you will find a folder with the name of the mod, and a setup program. Running that will install the mod. If you get an error about dialogue.tlk, you got the extraction wrong and the setup program is in the wrong place.

Also, all mods are designed to be installed on a version of BG2 that has had the latest official patch installed, as well as the baldurdash fixpacks. These are mods that are designed to fix a load of bugs that Bioware left in their last version. Although unofficial, they are considered standard and everyone should use them. They can be found at www.baldurdash.org . Be sure to get the right version - the ToB one if you have ToB, else the SoA one.

Other mods can have an effect. Any mod that isnt weiDU (they dont have that isntallation routine) will overwrite dialogue.tlk and other files, whereas weiDU mods alter them. So weiDU mods can be installed on top of other mods, but non-weiDU will corrupt any mod that is already installed.
