There are some cell phone companies better than others, and I know nothing of any of them. I am looking for a prepaid or pay-as-you-go cell phone, where I do not have any contract, no monthly fees, etc...I just want to use it like a calling card...I have money on it and I get to use that many minutes of air-time and when the time is up, it can sit for months before I use it again. Or maybe a phone that charges my credit account when I use it, but not when I don't.
Does anyone here have any experience with a phone like this?

I had a prepaid phone for the longest time, through what's now Verizon, I think. Most of the major players will have prepaid, but if I were to pick one, I'd say Verizon, as their coverage area seems to be a bit better defined? than some.
