Agh! Dear Lord I need help! *spoiler*

Ok, here's the situation.

I posted earlier that i was confused as to why the swamp steelhide croc did not give me the steelhide skin and why the umpani covert djinn did not give me an eye. Im playing Iron Man so i cannot just reload and try again.

I found more Djinn and have yet to find another steelhide, dunno if there is one. I've killed the steelhide in other games probably around 5/6 times and always get the hide.

Now my real problem.

I've lost a party member. Permanantly apparantly.

I grab idol go to crock go kill brekek and the big toad doesnt leave his leg. i say oh ****. i go kill croc and go upstairs and there is no Arwen the Bard hanging out in his chest. So Arwen took a big vacation and i dont know how to get her back.

Anyone with helpful ideas.

ps. i do have a backup save just before the idol. i do backups in ironman to protect myself from bugs like getting stuck in the umpani caves against a wall (happened once) and to prevent my stupid mistakes. ie. computer slows down to think and i end up running into lava. i have tried killing croc before grabbing the idol, but my character still ends up AWOL and i go to his chest and still no missing char. I need helps here people. Thanks so much fer listening if nothing else.

From a previous post about free exp...

When you kill the toad and go back to crock, the toad will respawn and you can kill him again and bring the leg back to crock for another cool load of exp.

I don't know if the toad will respawn if you just talk to crock or not, but it might be worth checking out. Maybe at some point you will get a "little leg" off the toad. (Chuckle)

Give it a try, it might work, might not, I hope it does...

are you running a patched ironman game? if so, what patch is it? i saw a post on the sirtech boards from someone who had the second to the last patch and was encountering a no-drop on Steelhide. afaik, Steelhide doesn't respawn. altho, i have only been back to check once, about 12 game days later.

anyway, if it makes you feel any better, there are 2 special armor/weapon items that i can't get to drop NO MATTER WHAT. lol. makes me wonder if that's done so you don't get all the good custom stuff. ::rolls her eyes, smiling:: you can hit me now for that suggestion. [img]smile.gif[/img]

i gotta tell you tho, i have NEVER heard anyone NOT get back their teammate, even on ironman. i just did a search on the sirtech boards, to see if it turned up there, and nada.

i am SO sorry. that's just awful. maybe Saz, or someone else can help. lets just keep bumping this one up.

I'm not a fan of cheating but this is a situation where I'd have no problems using a save game editor. the damn frog isn't leaving behind it's leg? fine, just use the editor and add the leg to your inventory.
it's bug-protection, not cheating [img]smile.gif[/img] .
