I purchased BG1, but cant find TOTSC here, should I install it before the game or it's also better to install after you beat the game? Is it an ADD-ON like ToB or it's just an add-in?

More of an add-in I think. You can install TotSC and it will immediately raise the exp pt cap to 160,000+, and add the new areas that come with the expansion. I don't know whether it adds new weapons, armour and items but I suppose it would. From what I gather you can, if your party is high enough in levels, procees to explore these new areas, and go back to the main BG1 story line at any point.

I'm not sure whether beating the boss at the end of BG1 ends the game, or whether you can continue on with the other areas in TotSC, without having to start a new TotSC game.

In IWD for example, beating the boss monster at the end of IWD *ends* the game, and if you had HoW installed, and hadn't started it yet, you could only do so by starting an "expansion-only" game. I did that, and lost a number of useful items like scroll cases, gem bags, etc. And their contents!!

TotSC is an add in. I just installed it and it adds in a few new map areas which are definatley worth checking out. Best of all, the experience cap is increased from 89000 to 161000 with TotSC. This is great if you plan on playing your character through to BG2 and ToB.
You can install TotSC at any point in your BG1 game, and you will then be able to access the new areas. I started going to the new areas during chapter 5(after I got to Baldurs Gate).

Hope this helps.

The manuel says you can continue from your final save but I've heard that it doesn't always work. It's pretty much of an add-on though as the only things added in TOTSC are level 4 and 5 spells and the 3 new areas. I'd go ahead and start and just keep your chapter 7 start as a save for when you do get TOTSC.

I never experienced that, and I played TotSC a long time before patching it. But then again, this bug could be specific to certain systems.

But the patch is easily downloaded, and if you buy it now, chances are the latest patch is even included on your CD.

Just make sure you install it asap!!!

It adds new items, weapons, area's, everything.

It also adds the patches.
