Does anyone have any tactics for beating the sirines that are outside the cave in the lighthouse area? There are three of them together and it's making things a little tough for me. Any ideas would be appreciated

Cast something that protects your characters from being charmed, the helmet of Charm Protection is also nice.

Cast a charm resistance spell, then, if you can, stay as far away as possible to attack.

The ways that work for me are: either hide in shadows and have your mage cast fireball or send Minsc in alone with beserk active so that he kills them even if he gets charmed. If you do get charmed get the rest of the party out of there until it wears off.

The Helmet of Charm Protection is cheating, for those who don't know, since it doesn't even exist in the game unless you hack it in. I've never heard of a Charm Resistance spell, but a Potion of Clarity is probably what you want. Everything that Midget Gems suggested also works. What I do is give everyone ranged weapons, and take each Sirine one by one, hitting her constantly so she can't get any spells off. And if somebody does happen to get Charmed, I just call Algernon's Cloak into play and Charm that wayward soul right back!

NEVER let your best Fighter get Charmed if he's wearing the Boots of Speed!!!

Six has it 'right'.
Give all six ranged weapons, then pick off the sirens one at a time. If one is charmed, run around in circles until it wears off, unless of course you have a way of uncharming a character. For added fun, if there's a charm spell headed your way, swap the character's missile weapon with a bare fist. Makes running away easier and you won't die if he/she catches up with you. Though the latter is certainly going toward cheesy...

Can you say 1000xp

Yeah, ditto 6's ranged attack approach. Several bows firing will disrupt their spell casting. You can lure them out one at a time and pick them off.

Just for fun I would be tempted to try having a cleric cast Sanctuary, give him or her the cloak of Algernon, and attack them melee style while the cleric charms people back. Unable to test it at the moment, but I think that casting charm on you own party members would not be considered an offensive action.

I hasted my three fighters to get in close quick to disrupt their spell casting and used dispel magic on anyone who got charmed.

Usually I just summon skeletons and sent them for sirines. When sirines are busy with skeletons rest of party aproach and use ranged weapons.

Toss in a Stinking Cloud, works like a charm! They can't cast anything and you can take them out with arrows!
