I see your point about not multiclassing monks, and in fact I have some regrets about even the one level of sorceror, though use magic items is a nice skill. I have a save just before leveling up to the sorceror and then monk and am debating going back. It isn't really that much of a loss since I had let experience points accumulate even after reaching the level up threshold from level 22, so that I had enough experience points to level up twice right away. I would just have to start the Isle of the Maker over again. I am also not looking forward to the 50% experience point earning penalty that I will suffer as soon as I take a level of RDD. If only sorceror or bard class were not a prerequisite for RDD.
