I thought it was a heat seeking device on a stealth bomber - or was this a different time. I'm pretty sure I saw some footage of it on the news though.
One point - there is a difference getting a lock on a slow, low flying aircraft that you know the position of, and one that may/may not be there, flying at altitude, and a bit faster.
Still made me laugh though, how much do they cost....?
