Many Catholics practice some form of birth control, without ever resorting to having an abortion.
Allow me to get a bit personal here: I'd NEVER, EVER have an abortion with my wife, but we do use condoms in our sex life. I know the Catholic church is against the use of any form of birth control besides that of the rhythm method, but I see the two as different degrees of "breaking the rules"
