But the demand is far less for coke and heroin than it is for weed. If weed is legal, prices go down, and the small-time operators maybe go out of business.
Crystal meth and E, though... you may be onto something.
However, I don't see quite what that's a good reason to keep spending so much on drug enforcement. If anything, legalizing pot would allow police to take their focus off grow-ops and put more emphasis on shutting down the meth labs. From what I've heard, meth is much more dangerous than the ganja.
