Default Re: Amy Winehouse joins Club 27

I love her music, as did my wife.

You know, with club 27, you gotta respect its members, imo. They chose to burn brightly and die early, whether they meant to or not. Amy Winehouse was adamant in adhering to her behavior, and even writ in song "They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said no, no, no."

You and I may think she was a pathetic fall-down drunkard crawling around on the dirty barroom floor sniffing for more drugs. And, its true. But, she embraced it, *became* it, chose it. I know I'll get chided for this, but I respect it: there was a time when I didn't want to live past 30 and I chose to give up my moral stance on that -- she did not.

And her voice, with its deep forlorn, was as unique as it was different from Joplin's sandpaper caterwalling. I intend to see exactly how many albums she released and try to collect them all. I don't know how big her collection is, as I only have one album to judge by (Back to Black), but I really like her voice and her work.
