My moto in regard to women is as follows:
Ignore the old battle ax as long as posible! She probably wants you to take the '72 Camero of its blocks and out of the front yard. Or she may want you to mve the old appliances off the front porce. Either way, if she wants it done she can do it herself. Just like the rest of them chores and holdin' down a job.
Actually my moto with my wife is: Make it a daily point of letting her know, beyond any shadow of a doubt, how loved and cherished she is (in different and unique ways) because this will cover a multitude of sins. I should know.
I am with you John D., I will never understand women, so I just try to cover my "sins."
Although, I will call my wife an "old battle axe" from time to time only because she increadibly sweet (I get a kick out of the stark contrast) and she is well aware that I believe her to be the exact opposite.
