Wait, let me get this straight... you have TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS TO BUILD A PC!?
At this point I'd like to point out that my dream platform would cost about $700.

You can easily afford Pentium 4 3.2GHz@800MHz bus, ASUS has a killer P4 motherboard, take 2x512 MB 800MHz RAM, Seagate 160GB S/ATA hard with some 8 MB cache I think, Sapphire ATi Radeon 9800 XT 256 MB DDR2, Plextor DVD+/- RW writer, Audigy sound card(no nForce 2 on Intel), and a Flatron 19" LCD.*thinks about the sheer power of this gaming machine*
