Posted this in the Once Upon A Paper Forum, but since it's kind of empty there, it's going up here as well. I'm very interested to see what people think of, the answer itself seems kind of cheap to me. If you give up, e-mail me at ajahn73@web.de and I'll send you the answer - do not want to spoil it for everybody else.

Okay, this is a very popular subject - don't worry if you don't guess it, it seems strange even when you know what it's supposed to be.

The first sister speaks:
"I am the first, I am one
Always growing, never changing
I torment people, bringing back
What can never be had again
Yet I comfort them, gently reminding
Of lessons learned, of friends far gone
The hammer or the feather, both are me
You cannot destroy me, I would come back
In less than the blink of an eye
Who am I?"

The second sister speaks:
"I am last, yet I was first
I am many, always changing
Splitting into a thousand faces
I do not comfort, I draw people on
Beckoning to their ambition and drive
I create hope, to feed the desperate
I am the goddess of plans and schemes
I nurture dreams, ideas, possibilities
Who am I?"

The third sister speaks:
"I am one, I am nothing
Ever-changing, never there
You don't notice me until I am gone
And when you do, I am not me
My sisters are all, I am nothing
Yet without me, they could not be
I am the destroyer of plans, of hope
I am the one who brings chaos, disorder
I am the witness to the dirtiest deeds
Yet before they are done, I am no longer
Who am I?"

Okay - guess
