Yup, the trick is that the sum of the individual digits of any number multiplied by 9, is 9.
Eg 3 x 9 = 27 2 + 7 = 9
7 x 9 = 63 6 + 3 = 9
And so on.
So you end up subtracting 5 from 9 *always*, and end up with 4, which corresponds to the letter 'D'.
I wonder if there are any countries apart from Denmark that start with 'D'. Offhand I can't think of any. Does "Democratic Republic of Congo" count?? [img]tongue.gif[/img]
As for the card trick, look carefully at the 2 sets of cards. You'll notice that *none* of the cards that are shown to you to choose in the first set is present in the second set (after you've clicked to discard a card). Sneaky huh?
