I finally beat him last night but it was a tough fight! Slight spoiler below

Loaded Anomen and Viconia up with multiple Holy Strikes, Jahiera with Summon Insects, Miscast, Insect Swarm, Jan with Breach and Summon monsters. My sorcerer had 6 Spell Thrusts and 5 Greater Malisons in his book. Cast Haste, Prot. from Evil 10', Prot. from Fire, Death Ward.

Entered room and sent Jan to get the sword. Jahiera, Jan and my sorcerer went to work first. Jan and my sorcerer then summoned a bunch of crap for the lich to waste his spells on. Left the room for a few...

Returned for round 2: breach, spell thrust, greater malison, doom, miscast. I noticed that NO weapons worked on him. +2 arrows, Azuredge, Flail of Ages, Lilacor, Mace of Disruption. I'm guessing he had a Prot. from Magical Weapons... but couldnt figure out why it wasnt dispelled.

Summoned some more monsters, including Fire Elementals, and left the room again. Took me about 3 more rounds of this to win. I noticed that he saved against the Daystar sword's sunray and took NO DAMAGE!

Very tough battle...

Get this:

Daystar sword - NO DAMAGE! Lich saved and he was "uninjured" after that.
