What about Tansheron's Bow and Gesen's Bow? No ammo needed, so what is their ability to hit creatures determined by?

I thought to hit Firkraag required +3 weapons, am I wrong on that? And for an actual Archer (using bows, i.e. the sport of archery, crossbowman and slingers I wouldn't classify as true "Archers") who doesn't get any "launcher" that is +4 or better until the Mana Bow, what is he/she supposed to do to remain "pure" in a role-playing sense?

Just curious...
