I think what happened is (besides really stupid) this:

The master of thralls was behind the wyvern perch when I killed him. Anytime I put the cursor over the wyvern perch, I get the "?" cursor instead of the "pick stuff up" cursor. I never even saw his dead body and therefore couldn't loot it. Luckily, though.. I saved my game under a different name after I entered the prison and I can go back and kill the bounty hunters and the master of thralls again quickly, this time making sure he is NOT behind the wyvern perch. It was really bugging me that I never saw his body after I killed him and then when I read your post, 2+2 made 4 and I realized WHY I couldn't see the body and that's why I couldn't get the orb. THANK YOU!
