If you've never read his work, start with The Icewind Dale Trilogy,
then go to The Dark Elf Trilogy, Legacy of the Drow and finally Paths
of Darkness. ("Sea of Swords", should be available now.)

Actually, the Dark elf trilogy comes before the icewind dale trilgoy(wich i am reading right now) I have yet to find this Gath though...
