Thanks for the tips! Of course I went back and continued searching ... and as usual, I've done it all backwards.. I managed to complete all the inside stuff (4 idols, 1 relic, 1 journal) BEFORE I returned outside to find Ardibren dying... and yes, he does tell you all you need to know to do the castle... just too bad that you have to leave the castle before you find it out! (like he could have told you most of this, when you first see him, inside the castle).
Anyway.. thanks for the info~ now I just need to do the ritual and kill Haleabus... after that, guess I will head off to the Stout Mine.. then Dragon Spire.
