It was actually. I had it with honey; first time I've had honey for years and years. A bit dense, but that's damper
3 cups self-rasing flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tblsp butter
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
flour for kneading
Sift flour and salt, rub in butter till it's like fine breadcrumbs. Mix in milk and water with a knife till a dough. Turn out onto floured surface, kned lightly into a round. Place on greased oven tray, pat into 15cm circle, cut two slits across dough like a cross. Brush top with milk. Bake in hot oven for 10 minutes, reduce heat to moderate, cook for further 15 minutes.
Now it took me a bit longer to cook it so you might want to check the centre isn't still doughy before taking it out
Easy peasy for kids to make
