I've got the same problem. I had Korgan die in the same battle and although some of his stuff transported over alot of it didn't ie ring of ram , a helmet etc.
I wasn't too bothered cos' i had a lot of spare equipment anyway .But now in TOB , I've just finished off Yara Suga & thought I'd go back to Watchers Keep (did 2 lvs in SOA) , but now found out I've lost the device that lets you in. I had given it to Korgan for safekeeping - doh!!
Always said I would never cheat , but I'm tempted now !!
