I once did an essay for a multiplayer online game (where I worked for four years) on how easy it is to come up with fantasy names, and detailed some of the sources. Don't recall what I did with the thing; probably just as well. But if you're looking for something exotic, just go to the so-called Web of International Dictionaries at
http://www.yourdictionary.com/ It offers 270(!) languages. I input a word in English, then choose a translation for some of my names. Sometimes I choose for sound; at other times, I try to go for sound and sense.
For example, I just chose a Finnish dictionary. Within less than thirty seconds I had the name of a good archer: Kerkea Nuoli, or Swift Arrow. There were other options; I could have opted for Sukkela Vasama, for example. Or, I could have mixed 'em up: Suoli Vasnakerka sounds kinda neat. [img]smile.gif[/img]
