Well, there arent kits in BG1, but when you export a BG1 character to BG2 (and yes, you can do it), you will be able to choose a kit for it. So if you want to play a stalker through the whole saga (BG, BG2, TOB), just play a ranger in BG1 then export the character and import it into BG2 as a stalker.
