Talent wise, Vanessa Carlton by far. I quite like her music, the piano stuff is just cool!
But, as a rocker dude, have to say I prefer listening to Avril. She's cool, and fairly hot.
But sorry to disagree, live, she is just lost. Lol. And I've seen over 100 artists/bands live. Possibly even around 150. Avril just didn't use her voice well. Anyways,
I prefer Avril but Vanessa is more talented.
