If you've downloaded them from
Kirith, then they will have absurdely long file names. The first thing to do is to rename them using 1-7 characters. Create a sub-directory within your SoA folder named "Portraits" (case sensitive) and transfer all large and small portraits here. During character generation, simply select custom when browsing through the default portraits and you can set your large/small portraits.
