The US is seen as reasonably selfish to outsiders. For example, the US seems to assume they are the only ones in the world, rarely or never giving news or information about other nations or continents. That's why I find many Americans very ignorant about what's going on in other parts of the world. I find them badly informed - not by any fault of the people themselves but by the nation as a whole. But the US is a great country, Americans should be be very proud of it. I went there a while back and had a brilliant time, its one of my favourite places to visit.
