Yoshimo is the best thief in the game (he's the only true thief, and his bounty hunter skills are very powerful in a cheating sort of way). He is also perhaps one of the most useful character if dual classed to a fighter--he has excellent dexterity, decent hp, and no other faults--could easy fill Mazzy's feet and take up the need for a thief. He also does not say anything annoying.
Some thoughts on the current method of "saving" Yoshimo (leave behind before chapter 4, pick up when you return, pause and talk to him to get him to join, resurrect):
It keeps Yoshimo out of action for too long (three chapters). You can't leave him in the copper coronet, you need him back sooner!

Here's an idea:
What if you leave Yoshimo behind in Chapter 4, in the inn at the Asylum town. Sub in Imoen for the duration of the Asylum. Then, after you escape from the Asylum you can pick him up again.
Or, if that doesn't work, what if you kill Yoshimo so he's greyed out? Then you resurrect him after Irenicus has left. Or perhaps even after the dream sequence. Anyone know whether these routes work?
