Have you 'freed' him yet? you know used the scroll, left come back to kill him kind of thing? or is he still a disimbodied voice from the first enounter?
Also The machine level drain doesn't effect characters with plane portection but if the right combinations are pressed it will increase your sats, the combnations can be found on all tose little bits of paper that were on the higher levels or by asking here of course.
