what I would do is make up the rest of your team with multiplayer. that way you can generat what ever you want.
or
one website i found gave the idea of using a couple of good npc's as cannon fodder. send them in to take all the heavy punches. (like fighting lich's) you dont really need them you just have them there for extra muscle and let them die off.
