There is a mod of LotR at the nwvault. I haven't played but it is probably pretty good.

P.S. Hey Sir T! if your going to make a single-player, down load stuff by Lady Blood on IGN. She has great LotR stuff. I wish I could help more than by saying that, but I have no idea how to model stuff, and I am only an OK scripter.
