1) Anomen will be summoned to the Order of the Radiant for his test (about 10 days after talking to Bylanna in the government building).

2) If you kill Maevar you will get his Boots of Stealth and a Short Sword of Backstabbing (+3) from Renal.

3) The versions should be compatible because Interplay released one patch for both of them. Long ago I played the English version of BG I and the US version of ToSC on my German system and it worked fine (and there were different patches for the different versions).
