JRR Tolkein, most assuredly. Many authors have made me think, laugh, cry and escape reality....he made me feel like a part of Middle Earth....and like going back again and again.
Guess I'd want to give special mention to others, including, Isaac Asimov ( a trailblazer!), William Shakespeare (still read his works), Charles Dickens (Great Expectations made quite an impression!). I'm sure there are more, but I'll end here for now!
Caleb- Michael Crighton is great! The Andromeda Strain is one of my favs and I consider it a classic!
