Subzero temperatures in Newcastle, England?

How about -40 Celsius, throw in a wind chill for about -55 Celsius to -65 Celsius. In the winter you have to listen to the local radio station for weather warnings. The DJ will announce how long it will take before exposed skin freezes. If you shut your car off to get gas, you'll never get it started again so you just leave it running. Salt on the roads? Nope...it just freezes...you have to use sand. When the temp gets up to about -15, then it's T-shirt weather!
Try living in Calgary during the winter. One day it is -40 Celsius, throw in a wind chill for about -55 Celsius to -65 Celsius. Then the next day it is +25C thanks to a warm wind coming over the Rockies. +25C is great except for the fact that you go to work prepared for -40C.
Ah yes the good old Chinooks! They are great for thawing everything out during the day, so that you can wake up to an ice rink for a road in the morning. Almost as much fun as spring thaw.
