No, i've heard this before (we've been down this road more than once). It's a bit of a red herring. If you already know your stance can be "significantly softened", wouldn't you, from then on, make it your personal business to view these movies beforehand? This requires action on his part, not on any of ours. It is not enough to say "Oh well I did actually change my mind after someone dropped a movie in my lap". Go out and track the movie down yourself. If you're not motivated to do so, then it can't mean all that much to you in the first place. *shrug*
