Just wanted to let everyone know, I finished! Thanks for the helpful advice on this forum (even though it was only for me for the last 1/5 of the game.
My player characters finished as:
25th level Samurai
24th level Ninja
25th level Bard
26th level Paladin
23rd level Assassin
12th level ZenMaster
