Definitely call the newspaper's office and complain...they do care about not losing customers.
Our paperboy (driven through his route by a parent as well) aims at a cat if one happens to be outside at 3:30 a.m.
With 12 potential targets (and knowing some of our cats deserve a good scare ha ha) I don't blame him for having fun with his job but they all learned quiclky not to be outside when he delivers (or at least not be in sight) and now the paper lands on the porch...he did try to throw it through the cat door in our screen door a couple of weeks ago but the noise it made when it hit the metal not only gave us a scare but got a few neighbors out of bed too and he hasn't tried that one since.
