I did not find any of the "best" swords til I got into the Rapax Castle. I think I may have even finished a game weilding that same sword since I missed out on getting the Muramasa Blade for my Samuari.

EDIT: There is an awesome blade called Fang but I forget where we found it. Hopefully someone will post a spoiler here for you guys.

2nd EDIT: My next post gives some actual information on better swords (hey! I remembered something!
