I just picked up the new Joe Satriani CD, 'Is There Love In Space?' and I have to say, it's very refreshing. Much of it is standard Satriani fare, Joe doing things with a guitar that just shouldn't be possible, but there are a couple of vocal tracks on it that really stand out on it. The track "I Love the Rain" may be the downright coolest groove on the CD, with his ghost-like vocals accompaning his masterful guitar work. The instrumental track that opens the CD "Gnaaahhr" is a bombastic boogie that let's you know right off the bat that Smokin' Joe is in prime form.
