When you change into the slayer you lose 2 reputation points. So don't do if too much.
The slayer did a lot of damage when I changed into it. Mind you that it has (I think) 25 in strengh. I could smack 6 mind flayers or 6 umbo hulks in no time as slayer.
Very important. When you turn into the slayer you should note that before killing the last monster in the battle you MUST turn back into your normal sharp or else you'll die.
