Sorry to hear of your problem! Did you try Vanish? or Teleport to at least move you out of that exact square??
I rather doubt that the problem is the size of your character, but given the other glitches in the game, that is possible. Do you have a save from shortly before this happened that you can reload??
If you do, I would suggest that when you come to these stairs again that you try running and jumping along them and hopefully you will get past the sticky bit!
